Northern Louisiana Medical Center will soon kick-off its 2nd Annual United Way Campaign. Last year, employees at Northern Louisiana Medical Center helped to raise over $20,000 in its campaign efforts. Larger efforts included a hamburger and hotdog cookout, silent auction, basket raffle, selling coke bottles by the case, and general employee contributions.
This year NLMC will kick-off its fund-raising efforts on September 16th with the Hamburger and Hotdog cookout. Plates will be $5 with your choice of hamburger or hotdog, potato salad, baked beans, drink, and a cookie. Community Trust Bank has donated their grill for this wonderful event. This will take place in the cafeteria at NLMC from 11-1pm. This event is open-to-the-public.
The second event will be the basket raffle. Each department at NLMC will get together and create a basket to raffle off. These baskets include many different themes. Last year these themes included: LA Tech Athletics, LSU, Saints Memorabilia, Tailgating, Halloween, Wine and dine, Taste of Ruston, plus much more. Raffle ticket prices are as follows: $1 each, $10 for 12 tickets, and $20 for 25 tickets. This event is open to the public as well. Raffle tickets can be purchased the week of October 24th – October 28th. They will be on display that week in the Audubon Room at NLMC for you to view and place your raffle tickets. The drawing will be held on Friday October 28th at 2pm. You need not be present to win. Winners will be called if they are not present.
The next fundraiser of the 2011 United Way Campaign will be a southern breakfast plate sale. This will be from 7-9am on October 28th in the Cafeteria at NLMC. Plates are $5 with a choice of: Pancakes or Biscuits and gravy, grits, bacon or link sausage, eggs, juice or milk.
Other internal fundraising efforts will include general employee contributions and the Pledge Card Campaign. For more information on the 2011 NLMC United Way campaign and how you can contribute, please contact Sue Axton at 318-254-2482.
